Beyoncé’s hit album Lemonade made several references which had her Beyhive buzzing and one which left them particularly puzzled was the reference to ‘Becky with the good hair’ in her track Sorry.
The song was reportedly about Jay-Z’s alleged infidelity and fans of Queen Bey, 36, went into full-on investigation mode in attempts to match the reference to a well-known face.
Many social media users were convinced that ‘Becky with the good hair’ was British singer Rita Ora, 27, but she has now denied rumours of a relationship with the award-winning rapper.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, the Hot Right Now hitmaker addressed the reports. saying: ‘Hey, all I want to say to that is, dude, if I were Becky with the good hair, wouldn’t I actually have good hair? Look at it. It’s all weave and extensions.
While taking a light-hearted approach to the matter by poking fun at her appearance, she went on to praise Beyoncé as being the ‘nicest, bestest person’.
Rita continued: ‘Nobody can ever say anything wrong about that woman in front of me. I get emotional just talking about it.’
Blonde beauty Rita developed a close relationship with the Empire State of Mind rapper when she signed to his former label Roc Nation.
She parted ways from the label in 2016 and has since signed with Atlantic Records.
